Patagonia Cord Pants

It’s pleasant owning a pair of Patagonia trousers as I know they’ve been sourced sensibly. I’ve not owned a pair of cords for probably 25 years, but am wondering why? They feel strangely familiar, very comfortable, and have garnered quite a few complimentary comments from people whilst out and about. Thet’ve quicly become classified as my smart trousers and I wouldn’t ever wear them to climb in – well not until they are a little more threadbare at least. Patagonia, like many of outdoor clothing manufacturers, fortunately make trousers that are long enough for tall people. I like the fact that it has a zip as opposed to a bunch of fiddly buttons that cause me to appear to be fumbling with my groin as I impatiently re-enter the pub. Plenty of pockets too. All in, a nice pair of trousers. They retail at £75 which is definitely on the steep side, but let’s face it, we’re talking Patagonia here, and as I’ve already said, you have the peace of mind that they are responsibly sourced, and can be recycled once they are finished with…

The official Patagonia blurb:

A fall and winter staple from Vancouver Island to San O, The 5-pocket Patagonia Cord Pants are known to enhance beard and hair growth, heel-hanging and Southern-rock guitar solos. Our hardy but not stifling 8-oz, 14-wale 100% cotton corduroy pants have a metal-shank top button and zip fly, but they are also in touch with your inner shambolic soul rider, and, of course, recyclable through the Patagonia Common Threads Recycling Program. Inseam (size 32): regular, 32" (81 cm).
