Rock Shoes: 5.10 Anasazi Velcros

1st Mar 2006

£70.00 | Velcro | size reviewed 10 (foot size 10) | weight 532g | medium asymmetry

One of the classics. These boots have a conventional double Velcro closure, synthetic low stretch upper, a split padded tongue and a poor heel. It may well pull your toes to the front, but it doesn’t half bag. The rest of the shoe must be fairly special though as, along with their lace-up cousin, they appear to have been one of the most popular shoes for ages and are still going strong. They are a great shoe: precise, hold a good edge, smear well and are pretty comfy. For the last few years Five Ten have had the best rubber around. It’s still really good but other manufacturers have caught up with little to call between the top few. So now they no longer have the stickiness edge are they worth having? We think they are. If they fit you well and you don’t fancy any of the new high performance features of other boots around then they are still a top buy.

Note that the 2006 model of the Anasazi Velcro will feature Onyx rubber and the new better-fit heel :-)
