Ultra-runner Stephen Pyke (aka Spyke) lives in Hathersage in the Peak District and works at Sheffield University. On 3rd June, just 39 days 9 hours and 6 minutes later, Spyke touched the summit cairn on Ben Hope in Sutherland to complete the fastest round of the Munros. The previous record was 48 days 12 hours set by Charlie Campbell in 2000.

Thu 10th Feb 11 Podcast #5: Sam Davies Interview
For this week's podcast Lissa Cook talks to 17 year old amateur photographer Sam Davies. Sam has won the first part of the Arc'Teryx Adventure Shot photography competition and will now go up against four professional photographers in a live slideshow final at the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival at 9pm on Saturday 5th March at the Showroom Cinema. Sam studies at Gorseinon College in Swansea. He says: "I'm a 17 year old student who enjoys photography, specifically Mountain Biking Photography inlcuding Downhill, Dirt Jumping and Freeride. I entered the competition because I saw the quality of some of the Mountaineering shots and wanted to see if my Mountain biking shots could compete through the eyes of non mountain bikers. Also because I thought it would a good opportunity for me to showcase my photos in front of professionals and people in the industry."
Sam's slideshow can be viewed on MPORA
All the entries to the competition can be viewed here.
