The
Shows
Each Alastair
Lee performance is a multi-media extravaganza packed with entertaining
features including one huge 16:9 screen, spine-chilling photography,
special effects, video shorts and the drum kit! State of the art
sound and digital projection are all used to full effect.
Storms
Of Laughter - Rising
star of the climbing lecture circuit satirical stand up Alastair
presents a one-hour comic skit spectacular. Mallory summit shots,
cutting edge issues (gays in the outdoors), competition climbing
and the mountain press are all lambasted without remorse. Clips
from the award winning film (People's Choice - Kendal Mountain Film
Festival) 'Twice Upon a Time in Bolivia' and lashings of jaw dropping
photography are all inclusive in this entertaining, or if it goes
really well, hilarious performance. NB There is some adult content
in the show, so please leave your parents at home. You have been
warned!
Climber
or Lunatic? – Alastair recounts the arrogance of youth
as a 23 year old he took New Zealand’s north and south islands
by storm, falling off most routes, other days not daring to leave
the hut, his only successes were winning the ‘boulder-run’
and this hilarious one man show.
Canadian
Chaos - Adventures, and misadventures, across 10,000 miles
of Canadian soil, rock, ice, snow and highway, from the flat prairies
to the spectacular peaks of the Bugaboos. First seen at the Kendal
Film Festival ’99, then toured Ireland in 2000 as well as
gracing the MC of Scotland’s AGM, the show continues to entertain
after 6 years on the road.
Made in
China - Visiting the Himalayan foothills for an attempt on
a first ascent of a 5500m peak in the remote Shangri La region.
With beds on buses and one gloved taxi drivers getting there is
half the adventure! This is another thoroughly entertaining and
visually spectacular show, which inspires all to visit this little
known yet enormous country.
