Andy Kirkpatrick & Niall Grimes Charity Do The evening was a great success, raising £768.50 for the Edale Mountain Rescue Team and the Access & Conservation Trust. For those who weren't there, basically Andy and Niall were plonked on stage, a microphone each, and entertained for 2 hours based on a series of 100 images sent in by members of the audience. They had never seen the photos before. It was an experiment, and it worked. The evening was videoed with the intention of putting clips on the internet at some point in the not too distant future. Below are a few comments from those who were lucky enough to attend: It was fantastic, very funny I thoroughly enjoyed last night, so thank you very much for organising this charity event Sharp, rude and funny. An awesome exploration of the boundaries of the laws of slander and copyright. Fortunately, many of those who featured were absent or too ashamed to speak up and, despite their nonchalance, Kirkpatrick and the Grimes single-twin clearly retain top-notch Lawyers. Not suitable for Mothers or photos of them. Haven't laughed so much since. Have seen Andy Kirkpatrick do his “regular” lecture/s on several occasions and would have no hesitation in seeing him again; however last night was a very bold departure from the norm An excellent night out, what a double act! Jim Perrin Charity Auction Thanks to all those who came to the lecture. We raised £625 for the Tsunami Appeal through book and calendar sales and the auction of Jim's final, unbound copy of his book, and an early expansion bolt / piton used by Whillans himself. The talk was great, Alan is a top man very funny, you can see why he has archived what he has, he's got the right attitude. After a talk at the Lescar in Sheffield, October 2005 Thanks and keep up the good work - Adam Harrison Please pass on my congratulations to Jim on the publication of the excellent biography on Don Whillans - Ian Rostron Really enjoyed last night, all of it very inspiring in different ways - Heather Clark Ian's talk was excellent - Dan Webber I was at leeds (enjoyed it alot) - Rob Stone Congratulations on last night. In terms of our exposure for Jagged Globe, I thought it was excellent and definitely good value - Tom Briggs, Jagged Globe (Sponsor) Hi.
